2.4.1 Summit Client Utility (SCU) For Model RA2041
This secti on de scr ibes the Summit Client Utility (SCU). The SCU provides the
utilit ies you wil l n eed to configu re the Summit 802.11b/g Compact Flash radi o
module, model number RA2041 so that it can communicate through a wireless LAN
effectiv ely a nd securely.
2.4.2 Assigning The IP Address
Before launching the SCU, you nee d to c onfi gure how the IP a ddre ss wil l b e
obtained. I f you r net w ork i s no t usi ng a DHCP se rver, you will need to ass ign a n
IP address .
1. Tap on Start>Settings>Network and Dial-up Connections. (If th e
Start Menu i sn’t disp laye d in the task bar, press [FN/BLUE] [0] t o
display i t.)
If you’re usi ng the keyboard, pres s [FN/ BLUE] [0] to di spl ay t he Start
Menu. Use the [DOWN] arr ow key t o hig hli ght Settings. Pre ss t he
[RIGHT] arrow key to display th e sub-menu. Highl ight Network, and press
[ENTER].
2. Choose th e Summit WLAN Adapter icon to ope n the 802.11b/g Wire-
less LAN Settings window. In Figure 2.1, this icon i s la bel led
SDCCF10G1.
