ASSEMBLING THE CLUTCH MASTER CYL-
INDER
SBefore installation, all internal clutch com-
ponents must be cleaned and lubricated
with clean or new clutch fluid.
SNever use solvents on internal clutch com-
ponents as they will cause the piston seals
to swell and distort.
SWhenever a clutch master cylinder is dis-
assembled, replace the piston seals.

1. Install:
Sclutch master cylinder

SInstall the clutch lever holder with the “UP”
mark facing up.
SAlign the end of the clutch lever holder with
the punch mark

in the handlebar.
SFirst, tighten the upper bolt, then the lower
bolt.
2. Install:
Scopper washers (New)
Sclutch hose
1
Sunion bolt

Proper clutch hose routing is essential to in-
sure safe motorcycle operation. Refer to
“CABLE ROUTING”.
While holding the clutch hose, tighten the union
bolt.
