redundant pair. If you want the capability to fail over from one controller to
another controller, you must install the second controller. Also, you must
set the failover mode.

In Figure 1–6 the HSZ40, HSZ50, HSZ70, HSZ80, HSG60, or HSG80
has transparent failover mode enabled (SET FAILOVER COPY =
THIS_CONTROLLER). In transparent failover mode, both controllers are
connected to the same shared SCSI bus and device buses. Both controllers
service the entire group of storagesets, single-disk units, or other storage
devices. Either controller can continue to service all of the units if the other
controller fails.

controllers to provide better system performance. See the RAID
