scription The disable syslog command disables the system log from being
sent to a remote host.
Parameters None.
Restrictions Only Administrator or operator-level users can issue this command.
Example usage:
To disable the syslog function on the Switch:
DGS3100# disable syslog
Success.
DGS3100#
show syslog
Purpose To display the syslog protocol status.
Syntax
show syslog
Description The show syslog command displays the syslog status (enabled or
disabled).
Parameters None.
Restrictions None.
Example usage:
To display the current status of the syslog function:
DGS3100# show syslog
Syslog Global State: Enabled
DGS3100#
create syslog host
Purpose To create a new syslog host.
Syntax
create syslog host <index 1-4> ipaddress <ipaddr> {severity
[informational | warning | all] | facility [local0 | local1| local2 |
local3 | local4 | local5 | local6 | local7] | udp_port
<udp_port_number>}
Description The create syslog host command creates a new syslog host.
Parameters all Specifies that the command is to be applied to all hosts.
<index 1-4> The syslog host index id. There are four available
indices, numbered 1 to 4.
ipaddress <ipaddr> The IP address of the remote host to which
syslog messages are to be sent.
severity The message severity level indicator. These are
described in the table below (Bold font indicates that the
corresponding severity level is currently supported on the Switch):
