Design rule verification
Youcaninadvertentlyrecallacombinationofpartialpresetsthatcausesan
overload. The user-selected design rule verification function analyzes and
compares all presets.
Execute the design rule verification function by clicking Tools > Design Rule
Verification.
After verification, if no combination of presets that would cause an overload
is detected, the function prepares an on-screen report stating “The current
configuration has been successfully verified“.
On the other hand, if, after verification, a problem is detected, the function
prepares an on-screen report stating “Overload Possible” and lists the specific
errors that it found. This combination of partial presets, if recalled, will cause an
overload. To prevent a possible overload, you need to make adjustments to your
partial presets. Run the design rule verification utility again to ensure that you
have resolved the potential problem.
N
Extron recommends performing a design rule verification before pushing a
configuration to the switcher and frequently while designing partial presets to
ensure that the DSP will not be overloaded.
If you are in Live mode (connected to a switcher) and any presets exist in the MPX
switcher that are not present in the DSP Configurator program (indicated by an
asterisk next to the preset name), the function halts and prompts the user to run a
backup.
Backup (click File > Backup) transfers all partial presets plus the current
configuration from the switcher to a DSP configuration file within the
DSP Configurator program and then prompts you to save the file to your hard
drive. Backup is unavailable when the DSP Configurator program is in Emulate
mode.
