Definitions
The following terms, which apply to all Extron matrix switchers, are used
throughout this manual:
Tie — An input-to-output video and/or line audio connection.
Set of ties — An input tied to two or more outputs. (An output can never be tied
to more than one input.)
Configuration — One or more ties, one or more sets of ties, and/or some or all of
the signal processor settings made in the DSP Configurator program.
Current configuration — The configuration that is currently active in the
switcher (also called configuration 0)
Partial (DSP-Configurator-created) preset — A partial configuration (a subset of
ties and/or sets of ties and/or signal processor settings) that has been stored.
N
Partial presets can be created only by using the DSP Configurator program.
They can be recalled via any means. When recalled (by any means), partial
presets overwrite only a portion of the current configuration, leaving other ties
and settings unchanged.
Global ties preset — A full, ties only, configuration that has been created via the
front panel, SIS commands, or the Matrix Switchers Control Program.
N
Up to 32 partial or global ties presets can be stored in memory. Preset locations
are assigned to the input buttons and output buttons. Up to 26 preset locations
can be selected from the front panel for either saving or retrieving. When a
preset is retrieved from memory, it becomes the current configuration (global
ties preset) or part of the current configuration (partial preset). Preset numbers
larger than 26 are accessible under RS-232 or Ethernet control.
