INSTALLING THE
PRINTER DRIVER
for Windows
Select how the printer is to be
controlled.
● Local printer
Select this when the printer is connected on a
peer-to-peer network.
● Network printer
Select this when the printer is connected on a
client/server network and is controlled by an NT
server.

Click on [Next].
● When you select “Local printer”, go to Step 9.
● When you select “Network printer”, go to Step 6.

Select “Type the printer name, or click
Next to browse for a printer” then
click on [Next].

Select the printer connected to the
server, and click on [Next].
● If the server connected to the printer has source
files of the printer driver for Windows 2000/XP,
installation of the printer driver begins. When
other printer drivers are already installed, select
whether or not this new printer should be
designated as the default printer. If [Yes] is
selected, the printer name will be displayed as
the first printer for printing your applications.
● If the server connected with this printer does not
have source files of the printer driver for
Windows 2000/XP, the Connect to Printer
screen appears. Click on [Next] and go to Step
10.
