Chapter 3 : Creating a Project
3.3.2.7. Display Data
General introduction
As discussed in Section
3.3.2 – Variables, Input Methods, several input
methods are available for your screen prompts.
This section discusses the Display Data input method and the properties
you need to set up when you select this input type.
Display Data allows the user to view the data stored in a variable.
For Display Data the property settings are as follows:
Display Value
Extract From
Extract To
Display Time
<ENTER> to continue
Type a value or set a value using the
contents of a variable. If you use a
variable, remember to assign a value to
the variable someplace in your label
program
Set the starting position if extracting only
certain characters from the input
Set the ending position if extracting only
certain characters from the input
For example, if you set Extract From 4
and Extract To 6, you will extract “555”
out of 0005550
Set the number of seconds this screen
should be displayed before the program
proceeds to the next screen
Check this checkbox to force the user to
press the <ENTER> button to proceed. At
the same time, set the Display Time to
zero. If the display time is not equal to
zero and the display time expires without
a user <ENTER>, the program will
continue without waiting for the user to
press the <ENTER> button.
