8.2 Setup for NetWare
This section describes the flow of setup the printer in a network environment running NetWare.
8.2.1 Flow of Setup
Setting up the printer
Set the NetWare interface port to Enable (factory setting: Disable) and activate the
protocol to be used from the printer control panel. Print the printer settings list and
check the device name (Host Interface Setup>NetWare
>Device).

Setting the NetWare print service
Using PCONSOLE or NetWare
Administrator (NWADMIN), create print queue,
print server and printer and assign the respective objects.
• When using in the PSERVER mode, use the device name checked in Step
for the print server name. Set Printer Location as Auto Load (Local).
• For information on how to use PCONSOLE or NWADMIN, see the manual
which comes with NetWare. For NetWare 5.X, only NWADMIN is available
for use.
Setting up the client
Install a printer driver compatible with the printer to a PC. Different printer drivers
are used for different operating systems.
Use a PC that is functioning properly as a client of NetWare.
