You will be able to make the following choices, according to the planning documentation:
- Choose
Disable NTP if the user does not want the Network Time Protocol to run on the S8300
Media Server. Select this option to disable Network Time Protocol (NTP) and use the media
server’s own clock as a time source. You typically choose this option if this is the only media
server in the configuration and it will not be synchronized with an external time source.
- Choose
Enable NTP if the S8300 Media Server will be the primary NTP server. Optionally,
you can provide the address of the survivable S8300 Media Server in the local survivable
configuration. Select this option to enable NTP and use the media server’s own clock as a
time source. You typically choose this option if there is more than one media server in the
configuration (for example, this or another media server may be acting as an LSP standby
unit), and an external time source is not available to provide synchronization between the
