A physical interface that is specified by the Electronic Industries Association (EIA). RS-232C transmits and receives
asynchronous data at speeds of up to 19.2 kbps over cable distances of up to 50 feet (15.25 meters). Also called EIA/TIA

RS-449
A physical interface that is specified by the Electronic Industries Association (EIA). RS-449 transmits and receives
asynchronous data at speeds of up to 2 Mbps over cable distances of up to 200 feet (61 meters). RS-449 is essentially a
faster version of RS-232C that is capable of longer cable runs. Also called EIA/TIA 449. See also
