minor alarm
An indication of a failure that could affect customer service. Minor alarms are automatically displayed on LEDs on the
attendant console and maintenance circuit packs or alarming circuit packs. Minor alarms are then sent to the alarm log,
and reported to a remote maintenance facility, if applicable.

modem pooling
A capability that provides shared conversion resources (modems and data modules) for cost-effective access to analog
facilities by data terminals. When needed, modem pooling inserts a conversion resource into the path of a data call.
Modem pooling serves both outgoing calls and incoming calls.

A processor data module (PDM) that can be configured to provide RS-232C, RS-449, and V.35 interfaces to customer-
