Setting hardware acceleration preferences
Through hardware acceleration, SMARTNotebook software completes some tasks using your
computer’s graphics processing unit (GPU) rather than its central processing unit (CPU). Hardware
acceleration improves the performance of SMARTNotebook software on most computers. However,
hardware acceleration can cause issues on some computers, such as content not displaying
correctly and SMARTNotebook software not responding. If you are encountering these issues, you
can disable hardware acceleration.
To disable hardware acceleration
1. Select Notebook > Preferences.
A dialog box appears.
2. Press General.
3. Clear the Use hardware acceleration to increase the speed of SMARTNotebook software
check box.
4. Press OK.
