Caring For Your Printer
7-14
Phaser 360 Color Printer
Cleaning the printer
You need to clean the printer when the following occur:
■ Frequent media jams.
■ Prints are striped or smeared.
How often you need to clean the printer will depend on how heavily the
printer is used and the environment in which it is used.
To determine an approximate maintenance schedule: Record the date of
your Þrst two cleanings, and then divide the elapsed time in half. If your
Þrst cleaning was in June, for example, and the second one was in December,
then clean the printer about every 2 Ð 3 months for preventive maintenance.
Using the front panel: Some cleaning procedures are executed through the
printerÕs front panel. Front panel messages guide you through the steps of
the procedures and on how to print cleaning instructions.
