Searching and Storing
Set Attenuator
to s elect to choose an attenuati on for all frequencies i n the range. F
On — the frequencies are attenuated.
Off — the frequencies are not attenuated.
Set Record
to enabl e a live audio output from REC to an audio recor ding device. F
On — the scanner outputs the signal.
Off — the scanner does not output any audio.
Assigning a Search Range to a Search Key
You can assign any of the Service or C ustom Searches to the three Search keys
for quick a ccess t o your favorite se arches.
[MENU] Search for ... F
Set Search Key F
Select the ke y to assign F
Select a sear ch range F
[MENU] Search for ... F
Now, to acce ss t hat se arch, ho ld o n any chan nel, t he n press F and the number
key [4] to [6] c or r esponding to the search r ange.
T he default setti ngs are:
SRCH 1: Cus tom 1
SRCH 2: Pub lic Safety
SRCH 3: Railroad
Saving a Found Channel (Quick Save)
Press [EYES] to save a channel ’s frequency if you hold on a channel or detect a
channel, instead of using Di rect Entry at another time. The alpha data is also
stored. If a GPS uni t is attached, the longi tude and l ati tude data i s saved and al so
becomes the name of the channel. For example, if the position is 32°57’33.60 N
l atitude and 97°05’34.18 W longitude, the name saved is 3257.33-09705.34.
