Using the BCT15 with a GPS
Set Type F At this level you have an opportunity to reassign or edit the
location type yo u first selected and set the location to e ithe r one o f the othe r types
or change the data in an existing location.
Set LocationInfo F Input the lati tu de an d the n t he lo ngitud e.
Set Lockout F As y ou near your target loc ation, an aler t s ounds at 0.5,
0.25, and 0.1 mi. You can stop this operation by pressing [L/O]. Al l th e d ata i s
ret aine d.
Yo u can use the m en u Lockout o pt io n as well. Set the lo catio n syst em to
Temporary L/O so you can move away m or e than four m iles and then c om e
back again. At that ti me, L/O st atus is au tomatically cancele d.
If you turn off the switch, the scanner is unlocked.
For POI Only
Set Alert Beep F Choose Off so no tone sounds or one of the four
alert m elodi es Alert 1 to Alert 4.
Once you make a Tone selection you are immediately asked to assign a volume
level t o that s elec tion.
Set Alert Volume F Select from 15 sound level s, plus Auto and Off. As
you ro tate the Scroll Control the Al ert tone you s et is played l ouder and louder .
Press F t o se lect a volume le vel. Yo u can also select Auto, a lev el that is the
same settin g a s you r ma ster volume cont ro l.
Set Range F Input how far away the ale rt sou nd s for th e site (only
available for POI’s and between .1 and 2.0 miles)
For Dangerous Xing, and Dangerous Road Only
The Aler t Tone is fixed. The alert r ange is auto-set at .5, .25, and .1 mile.

you ro tate the Scroll Control the Al ert tone is played l ouder and louder . Pres s F
to select a le vel you want. You can also sele ct Off (no sound) o r Auto, a level
that is the same as you r master volume co ntrol.
