Searching and Storing
To lo ck ou t a freq uen cy found while search ing, press [L/O]. Pressin g [L/O] on ce
displays Temporary L/O and p re ssi ng [L/O] twice displays Locked Out.
Notes:
If all frequencies in the search range you selected are locked out, All
Locked! appears and the scanner does not search the r ange.
If the service you selec t uses channel s ( such as CB R adi o or Mari ne) , the
scanner displays t he service channe l number.
Pr ess and hold [L/O] for about 2 seconds to unl ock al l frequencies that are
locked out in Search Mode and Close Call Mode.
Quick Search
Quick Search lets you search from the currently-tuned frequency if you are
scanning a con vent io na l system or set s t he system t o ID search if yo u are
scanning a t runked syst em.
If you are o n a con ven tional system or cha nnel, press F + [SCAN/SEARCH] to
sta rt qu ick se arch. Quick Search? Yes=”E” / No=”.” appears. Press
[HOLD/RESUME] to g o to q uick sear ch hold.
Press [EYES] to start qu ick search or [.No] to go to the search m enu.
Custom Search
Custom Search l ets you program and search 10 custom search ranges. You can
search any of these ranges sim ultaneously and select each custom search range
you set . During cust om search, the scanner searche s start in g with th e lowe st
frequency i n the search range you select to the highest frequency in the range.
There are two methods to begin a custom search.
Notes:
Sear ch r anges are preset. T hese ranges can be edited. See “Editing a Custom
Search Range” on Page 98 to change the range.
You cannot turn off all custom search ranges.
