1. General Function
The PA-16ELCJ (ELC) circuit card provides an interface between the D
term
and the IPX. Depending on the
switch settings, this card works in the following two modes.
• 16 ELC mode: A maximum of 16 sets of D
term
s can be connected to this card. (voice communications
only)
• 8 DLC mode: A maximum of eight sets of D
term
s can be connected to this card. (simultaneous voice
and data communications)

There are two different kinds of firmware EPROMs are located on the PA-16ELCJ (ELC) circuit card. SP-
3295 16ELCJ PROG-B provides the full performance interface for D
term
Series E, and SP-3270 16ELCJ
PROG-A provides D
term
Series III interface. The following table shows the D

performance depending
on each firmware EPROM.

• Software key is not available.
