Sending Faxes
Switching Temporarily to Tone Dialing
Many information services for banks, airline reservations, hotel reservations, etc.,
require tone dialing for their services. If your unit is connected to a rotary pulse
line, follow this procedure to set the unit temporarily for tone dialing:
1. Press Hook.
❑ You can also lift the handset of the telephone connected to your unit
instead of pressing Hook.
❑ You can adjust the volume of the speaker. If you are using the MultiPASS
Fax Setup Utility, see the online MultiPASS Desktop Manager Software
Guide. If you are using the operation panel, see the online Standalone Fax
Manual.
2. Use the numeric buttons to dial the telephone number of the information
service.
❑ The unit connects using the pulses required by your phone line.
3. When the recorded message of the information service answers, press T to
switch to tone dialing.
❑ When T is pressed, T is displayed in the LCD display.
❑ If you pressed Hook in step 1, you can pick up the handset if you need to
talk to the other party.
4. Use the numeric buttons to enter the numbers requested by the information
service.
❑ Numbers entered after pressing T will be dialed using tone dialing.
