4. If you are using the Smart Start and Support Software CD-ROM 4.1 to
copy the appropriate files type in the following path: (CD Drive
letter
):\CPQSUPSW\NSSD\NETWORK and press Enter.

If you are using diskettes place diskette #3 of the support diskettes you
created into the floppy drive of your system. Type in the following path
A:\NETWORK and press Enter.

When the LAN Driver Options screen appears, scroll down and highlight
the following driver:
CPQNF3.LAN - Compaq 10/100 Embedded
UTP controller
and press Enter to select this driver.
The new, updated driver is copied to your local hard drive. Follow the
instructions that appear during the copy process.

A parameters screen CPQNF3_1 Parameters is displayed after the
updated LAN drivers are copied to your local hard drive.

Scroll to Slot number and type in the slot number value ID for the
embedded LAN controller.
IMPORTANT: The default slot number (Hardware Instance Number or HIN)
is: 10001.
CAUTION: IntraNetWare for Small Business from Compaq does
not generate an error message if the default HIN is already in use
by another device. If this occurs it requires you to select the
correct HIN number. To select an unused value, change screens
to the system console.
9. Type LOAD CPQNF3.LAN. NetWare defaults to the next available HIN.

Make note of that HIN (write it down) so you may modify your
AUTOEXEC. NCF later to use that value when loading the embedded LAN
controller. Define and bind other parameters as needed to complete
loading the driver.

Scroll to Save parameters and continue, and press Enter. You are
returned to your original screen which asks you if you want to install
additional network drivers. If no additional LAN drivers are required for
your install answer no to this question.
