150 IBM ISDN PC Card:User’s Guide
To install the CAPI Port drivers in Windows XP, do the following:
1. Insert the CD labeled “IBM International ISDN PC Card Drivers” into your
computer’s CD-ROM drive.
2. Click Start -> My Computer and double-click the icon for your CD-ROM
drive. Continue double-clicking to open the folders "Extras", "PORT"
"WINXP", and then "EN". The "EN" folder contains a setup program. Double-
click it ot start the CAPI Port device driver installation.
3. If you do not plan to install other modem emulator software for CAPI 2.0
drivers such as cFos or your software does not need to access any COM port,
leave all selections as they are displayed below. Just click OK to confirm the
installation of the drivers.
4. However some software packages that are tailored for use with an analog
modem may require that the CAPI Port Drivers are installed to a physical
COM port. Especially older sofware demands access any serial port in the
range of COM1 to COM4.
Note: Please consult your User's guide for your laptop computer in order to
find out which COM ports are used, which ones are available, and
how to make COM ports available if this shall become necessary.
In order to configure the CAPI Port drivers click on the Port tab of the
Installation Of The ISDN CAPI Port Driver window.
