WS 2000 Use Cases 9-9
The Default Gateway is already set to the subnet address. This is the IP address to which the DHCP clients on this subnet
will forward their outbound traffic. Clarisa fills in the DNS Server addresses, which corporate has specified. This will also
be supplied to the DHCP clients. The DHCP Lease Time is the time an IP address will remain assigned to a client after there
is no more activity. She leave it at the default and clicks Ok to save her changes.
Then, in the subnet screen, she clicks Apply to save her overall changes.
Now she will configure the printer subnet.
Configuring the Printer Subnet
Clarisa selects the second subnet from the list of LAN menu items in the left menu.
She renames this subnet “Printsn”, then gives it an IP address of 192.168.1.1 and a subnet mask of 255.255.255.0. The only
devices on this subnet are the wireless printers. Using the Interfaces section of the screen, she associates the second WLAN
with this subnet. She activates the DHCP server with an IP address range of 192.168.1.11 to 192.168.1.254.
