To keep things simple, he will define one subnet for the administration users, one subnet for the sales and marketing users,
and one subnet for the engineers. Each subnet will have one WLAN associated with it and one Access Port. The only
exception is the engineering subnet, which will have one WLAN and two Access Ports. The marketing subnet will not have
any access to the engineering or administration subnets. All of the subnets will be restricted to just HTTP, SMTP, and POP
access to the WAN.
Configuring the System Settings
Contacting the Wireless Switch
To begin configuration of the switch, Leo sets up a communication link to the switch. Leo starts with a direct network link
between his laptop and the switch, plugging the cable into one of the local, non-WAN, ports. The switch defaults to having
all the LAN ports on the first subnet and that subnet having an IP address of 192.168.0.1. So, as far as this connection is
concerned, the switch comes up with an initial IP address of 192.168.0.1. He sets his laptop to have an IP address of
