While pressing the release lever,
slide the p aper length guide to the
position for the p aper size you want
to use.

Press down the paper lif ting plate.

Insert the p aper into the cassette.
Before you insert p aper in the
cassette, st ack it so the leading
edge and sides of the paper are
even.
Do not st ack the p aper over the
limit mark inside of the cassette.
Place the edges of the top sheet
under the metal tabs on the cas -
sette s lef t and right side.

Adjust the p aper guides to fit the
size of p aper.

Gently push the paper cassette back into it s original (closed) position. Y oull feel a
click when it s properly in place.

Att ach the paper size sticker on the cassette s front.
Helpful T ip: The paper level indicator on the front
paper cassette let s you see how
much paper is in the cassette without
your having to open the cassette.
When you see the paper level indica -
tor drop (i. e., show more blue area),
make sure you have a supply of
paper nearby. Then, when you see
the Please Supply Paper message
on the display, you ll be ready to refill
the cassette.
Important: To avoid p aper jams, do not refill this p aper cassette without first remov -
ing all of any p aper which may remain in it. In other words, do not just
add sheets to an already-loaded stack.
Setting of the Paper Size
Default setting: 1st cassette: Ltr (Letter -sized p aper), 2nd cassette(option): Ltr, Byp ass
tray: Ltr
When you change the size of paper in the paper cassette, also you must change the
paper size setting, below.
