Basic operation
S pecial copy function
Negative/Positive ( reversing black and white areas )
If using this feature, the black and white areas of the original are reversed.
Note: Y ou cannot combine this feature with Reduced or Enlarged copies.
Helpful tip: If you programmed a Soft key to turn on or of f this feature, simply press -
ing that key will turn on or of f this feature.

Make sure the machine is in the Copy mode.

Place your original document in
ADF
face up, or on the
FBS
glass face down.

Enter the document size by pressing the
DOCUMENT SIZE
.

shows the current setting:
Note: This feature is Off for default setting. However, you can turn it on for the
default. (See p age 4.7.)

Press or until the setting you want appears.
In this example, we ve chosen On.

to save the setting. The machine returns to the st andby mode with

As needed, set the following:
Select document type and adjust image contrast
Enter the number of copies

Note: To reset the copy p arameter to default setting, press
COPY RESET

Combine (This mode is available only on the MFX-1700.)
This feature allows you to copy from four one-sided origi -
nals to one sheet of p aper.
Note: When using the Combine mode, the magnification
ratio is automatically set to 50%. However, you
can change it manually from 50 to 200 % if you
want.
Note: Although you can use Combine with the Ultra copy resolution, p art of original
image might be not copied. Ultra copy resolution only allows you to copy docu -
ments at 100 %. Images cannot be enlarged or reduced.

As needed, set the following:
Document type and Image contrast
Number of copies
Copy reduction or enlargement ratio (50 200%).
