5 Remove the paper cassette.
6 Grasp the top and front parts of the side cover and pry gently to free the tabs from their
receiving slots.
7 Pull the side cover off.
Putting on the grounding strap
IMPORTANT
Be sure to put on the grounding wrist strap before handling the
SIMM or any internal printer parts. The strap grounds you to the printer,
preventing any static discharge that might harm the SIMM or printer. Wearing
the strap cannot harm you. Follow these steps:
1 Wrap the end of the strap that does not have copper foil on it around your wrist.
The strap’s light adhesive coating keeps it attached to your wrist, while allowing for
easy removal.
2 Remove the backing from the piece of copper foil at the other end of the strap.
Lift the edges of the side cover up
and out, then pull the cover off.
