Novell Host Configuration
Under all versions of NetWare**, both PSERVER and RPRINTER setups
are supported by the Ethernet Interface. Since a PSERVER setup is the
most common, you will find the necessary steps to configure the Ethernet
Interface as a PSERVER shown first. Configuration for RPRINTER and
NPRINTER setup follow the PSERVER information.
NOTE: The Ethernet Interface can service up to four printers on one file
server. It can not service multiple file servers at one time.
NetWare Version 3.x PSERVER Setup
To configure a print queue on a NetWare 3.1x network:
1. Log on to the Novell file server as supervisor.
2. Enter PCONSOLE.
3. Select “Print Queue Information” from the PCONSOLE Main Menu.
4. Press INSERT to add a new queue to the list of currently defined
queues showing.
5. Type in the name of this new queue when prompted and press
ENTER. This can be any name you would like.
6. Press ESCAPE to return to the Main Menu.
7. Select “Print Server Information” and press ENTER.
8. Press INSERT when the list of existing print servers displays.
9. Type the name of the Ethernet Interface when prompted for a print
server name and press ENTER when done. By default, the Ethernet
Interface is named “M_
xxxxxx
” where “
xxxxxx
” equals the last six
digits of the print server Ethernet address found on configuration
printouts or reading MAC address on control panel. (e.g. M_071C1A).
10. Back at the print server list, select this newly defined Ethernet
Interface and press ENTER.
11. Select “Print Server Configuration” from the menu that displays.
12. Select “Printer Configuration” from the next menu to display a list of
configured printers.
