Disabling a
Fax Port
To disable the fax port and restore the printer serial port
settings:
1 When Ready displays on the top line of the opera-
tor panel display, press
Menu> or <Menu to enter the
menus.
2 Continue to press Menu> or <Menu until FAX MENU
appears on the first line of the display.
3 Press Select.
Fax Port appears on the second line of the display.
4 Press Select to choose Fax Port.
5 Press Menu> until Disabled appears on the second
line of the display.
Serial Option 1 displays on the second line of the dis-
play.
6 Press Select to disable the fax port.
7 Press Go.
Activating Menu Changes appears and remains on the
display until the printer restores the serial port
settings.

9 Turn the printer power Off (O).
10 Disconnect all system components from the
modem.
11 Disconnect the modem cable from the printer
serial port.
12 Turn the printer power On (|).
