■ Answering phone calls

Your machine rings.

Your machine rings again. (ap-
prox. 30 seconds after the first
ring)

Answer the call.
· You can pick up the
handset while the ma-
chine is ringing to talk
on the phone.
· Additionally connected
phones will not ring.
Note
· To make the machine
ring, you need to make
the settings for the
handset or the fax ring-
er on the machine. (See
4-35)
· The number of rings can
be changed from 1 to 10.

Reference
The continuous ringing
means the caller is mak-
ing a phone call to you.
Note
· When the caller is send-
ing a manual transmis-
sion, there might be no
sound when you pick up
the handset, so confirm
on the phone if no one is
on the line before press-
ing START.
· When you hear fax tones
(“beep-beep-beep”), it
is a fax call coming in.
When you answer the
call using the hand-
set, immediately press
START.
· When you answer the
call using an addition-
ally connected phone,
press START on the
control panel to begin
reception. (Hang up the
handset after reception.)
