13.4.2 Heating principle of IH Heater
The magneticeld is generatedby applyingahigh frequencycurrentto theIHcoil insidethe fuser
roller,whichthengeneratestheeddycurrentinit.Whentheeddycurrentows,theJouleheatisgen-
erated by the resistance element of the fuser roller, which is then heated. In the IH coil method, the
thermalefciencyishigherthanthelampmethodbecausethefuserrollerisdirectlyheated.
