neighbor maximum-prefix (BGP and BGP4+)
Use this command to control the number of prefixes that can be received from a BGP or a
BGP4+ neighbor.
Use the no variant of this command to disable this function. Do not specify threshold to
apply the default threshold of 75% for the maximum number of prefixes before this is
applied.
Syntax [BGP/BGP4+] neighbor <neighborid> maximum-prefix <maximum>
no neighbor <neighborid> maximum-prefix [<maximum>]
Default [BGP/BGP4+]
The default threshold value is 75%. If the threshold value is not specified this default is
applied.

Parameter Description
<neighborid> {<ip-address>|<ipv6-addr>|<peer-group>}
<ip-address> Specify the address of an IPv4 BGP neighbor, in
dotted decimal notation A.B.C.D.
<ipv6-addr> Specify the address of an IPv6 BGP4+ neighbor,
entered in hexadecimal in the format X:X::X:X.
<peer-group> Name of an existing peer-group. For
information on how to create peer groups, refer
to the neighbor peer-group (add a neighbor)
(BGP and BGP+) command on page 3.144, and
neighbor route-map (BGP and BGP4+)
command on page 3.159. When this parameter
is used with this command, the command
applies on all peers in the specified group.
<maximum> <maxprefix> [<threshold>] [warning-only]
<maxprefix> <1-4294967295>
Specifies the maximum number of prefixes permitted.
<threshold> <1-100> Specifies the threshold value, 1 to 100 percent. 75% by
default.
warning-only Only gives a warning message when the limit is exceeded.
