Introduction
After Installing the Printer
Perform the following steps after installing the printer.
■ Installing the Printer Driver (See p. 3-4)
The printer driver is software required for printing from an application. Specify the settings
for printing in the printer driver.
■ Setting Up a Network Environment for Printing (See p. 3-56)
If this printer is going to be connected to the network by using the computer's sharing
functions or by installing an optional network board, specify the settings for the computer
and install the printer driver on the client computers.
Steps for Printing to be Followed Each Time
Perform the following steps each time you perform a print job.
■ Specifying Properties
Specify the paper size, page size, and the number of copies in the printer driver. Accurate
print results may not be obtained when these settings are not made properly.
■ For Printing
Select the print menu from the application. The procedure is different depending on the
application. Refer to the Instruction Manual for the application.
Required System Environment
The following system environment is required to use the printer driver.
■ Printer Driver
• Compatible OS
- Microsoft Windows 98/Me
- Microsoft Windows 2000 Server/Professional
- Microsoft Windows XP Professional/Home Edition
• Compatible Computers
- Computers on which the above operating systems can run
• Required Memory
- Sufficient memory for the above operating systems to run
