Before You Start Using This Printer

■ Type of LAN cable
An optional network board does not come with a LAN cable. Please obtain a suitable
cable for your computer or network.
• Connecting to a 10Base-T Ethernet network
- A UTP-category 3, 4, or 5 cable (unshielded twisted pair cable with RJ45 connectors
attached at both ends), or an STP-category 3, 4, or 5 cable (shielded twisted pair cable
with RJ45 connectors attached at both ends) is required.
• Connecting to a 100Base-TX Ethernet network
- A UTP-category 5 cable (unshielded twisted pair cable with RJ45 connectors attached
at both ends), or an STP-category 5 cable (shielded twisted pair cable with RJ45
connectors attached at both ends) is required.
IMPORTANT
•
The network board for this printer cannot be connected to networks other than those
listed above.

Confirm that there is a free port on the hub to which the printer will be connected. An
additional hub must be installed if there is no free port.

An optional network board is capable of being connected to 10Base-T/100Base-TX.
