Confirming the Package Contents
Confirm that the following items are contained in the package before installing the
network board. If an item is missing or damaged, please contact your Canon
dealer.
NOTE
This network board does not come with a LAN cable. Please purchase one that matches
your network.
Preparing Cables
For the printer to operate properly when the network board is installed, the cables
you use must conform to your network requirements. Have the cable that you need
available in advance.
■ When connecting to a 10Base-T Ethernet network
A UTP category 3, 4, or 5 cable (Unshielded twisted pair cable with RJ45 connectors
attached at both ends) or STP category 3, 4, or 5 cable (Shielded twisted pair cable with
RJ45 connectors attached at both ends) is required.
■ When connecting to a 100Base-TX Ethernet network
A UTP category 5 cable (Unshielded twisted pair cable with RJ45 connectors attached at
both ends) or STP category 5 cable (Shielded twisted pair cable with RJ45 connectors
attached at both ends) is required.
IMPORTANT
•
This network board cannot be connected to a network other than the above.

Confirm that a hub port is available for connecting the printer. If there is no open port, a
hub must be added.
