Storing Toner Cartridges
Be careful of the following points for storing new cartridges or those that were
removed for maintenance.
IMPORTANT
Do not remove a new toner cartridge from the protective bag until it is ready to be used.
If a toner cartridge has to be removed from the printer for maintenance, attach the
protective cover immediately and place it in the protective bag that it came in or wrap it
with a thick cloth.
Do not place it vertically or upside-down. Store a cartridge in the same position as when
installed in the printer.
Do not store a cartridge in a place exposed to direct sunlight.
Do not store a cartridge in a hot or humid place, or a place where the temperature and
humidity can change signicantly.
Storing temperature range: 0 to 35
°
C (32 to 95
°
F)
Storing humidity range: 35 to 85 % RH (no condensation)
Do not store a cartridge in a place that can generate corrosive gases such as ammonia,
a place in which a considerable amount of salt is contained in the air, or a place with a lot
of dust.
Store the cartridge out of the reach of small children.
Condensation
Even within the storable humidity range, water drops may develop both inside and on the
outside of the cartridge due to the difference in temperature. The development of water
drops is called condensation. Condensation will adversely affect the quality of the toner
cartridge.
