❍ Scan Mode
Selects the type of image you are scanning:
Black and White—Scans an image at one bit per pixel.
Grayscale—Scans an image at eight bits per pixel; when
scanning a color image in black and white, this option
retains the greatest tonal range.
Text Enhanced—Scans an image in grayscale, converted to
black and white using Canon Image Trust technology.
❍ Scan Resolution
Selects the resolution in dots per inch. Use the scroll bar to
view the various resolutions, or choose Custom for further
selections. Generally, a higher resolution provides better
image quality.
❍ Selection
Defines the size of the image you are scanning and the scale
(enlarging or reducing).

Simply click the ? on the toolbar and select Scanning to learn all
about the scan options.

you specify the
scan options for
your document.
