Boot Image Download
Loading a new boot image from the TFTP server and programming it into the flash updates the
boot image. The boot image is loaded when the switch is powered on.
To download a boot file through the TFTP server:

Ensure that an IP address is configured on one of the device ports and pings can be sent to a
TFTP server.

Make sure that the file to be downloaded (the
.rfb
file) is saved on the TFTP server.

Enter the command
console# show version
to verify which boot version is currently running
on the device.
The following is an example of the information that appears:
console# show version
SW version 3.31.42 ( date 22-Jul-2003 time 13:42:41 )
Boot version 1.31.03 (date 01-Jun-2003 time 15:12:20 )
HW version 00.00.01 (date 01-May-2003 time 12:12:20 )

Enter the command
console# copy tftp://{tftp address}/{file name} boot
to copy the boot
image to the switch.
The following is an example of the information that appears:
console# copy tftp://176.215.31.3/6024_boot-10013.rfb
Erasing file ...done.

console# reload
This command will reset the whole system and disconnect your
current session. Do you want to continue (y/n) [n] ?

to reboot the switch.
