6.3 Powering On the Physical Partition
Requiring Maintenance
This section describes the procedure for powering on a physical partition requiring
maintenance.
1.
Switch the mod e switches of the master chas sis and thos e chassis whose
XSCFs are in the standby state to Locked mode.

For a building block configuration (w ithout crossbar bo x)
Switch the mode switches of BB-ID#00 and #01 to Locked mode.

For a building block configuration (w ith crossbar bo x)
Switch the mode switches of BB-ID#80 and #81 to Locked mode.
2.
LogintotheXSCFshell.
3.
Execute the sho w status command to confirm t h at there is no problem with
the FRU after the completion of maintenance.
If there is no problem, nothing is displayed.
4.
Execute the sho w hard conf command t o check the hardware confi guration
and t h e status of each component.
5.
If the state of the m aster chassis r equiring maintenance h as been switched to
the standby state before maintenance, e x ecute the s w itchscf command to
switch the cha ssis to the master XS CF.
6.
Execute the poweron command t o power on the stopped p h ysical partition.
