Setting Up a Client Computer
This section describes the procedures for setting up a client in a network that
uses Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows NT Server or Windows NT Work-
station as a print server.
When using a Windows 2000, Windows XP or Windows NT print server, select
a shared printer on Windows 2000, Windows XP or Windows NT.
Limitation
❒ When using a print server connected to the printer with SmartNetMonitor for
Client, you cannot use Recovery Printing and Parallel Printing.

❒ This section assumes that the client has already been configured to communi-
cate with a Windows 2000, Windows XP or Windows NT print server. Do not
begin the following procedure until the client has been set up and configured
correctly.
Use the [Printers] window to set up the printer.

Click [Start], point to [Settings], and then click [Printers].

Double-click the [Add Printer] icon.
This launches the Add Printer Wizard.

Click [Network printer server] and click [Next >].

In the [Shared Printers] box, double-click the name of the computer used as a
print server.
The printers attached to the network are displayed.
