The following example shows the software upgrade for Cisco ASR 1002 or 1004 Router running
sub-packages:

Upgrade all subpackages, including the RPBase
subpackage, which is the last subpackage that needs to be
upgraded.
Note This step is required to ensure that all subpackages
on the router were upgraded as part of this
procedure, and might upgrade some subpackages
that would otherwise be missed in the process.
Step 17
show version installed
Example:
Router# show version installed
(Optional) Verify that the subpackages are properly
installed.
Step 18
reload
Example:
Router# reload
Reload the RP.
Tip The router will continue normal operation even
without a reload, so you can reload the router during
scheduled maintenance or a slower traffic period.
Step 19
request platform software package clean
(Optional) Removes the unused subpackages from the
router.
