About Multi PC Support (Palm OS only)
With Pylon Conduit and Pylon Pro from iAnywhere Solutions for Palm,
you can synchronize your Lotus Notes PIM and custom databases from
multiple desktop computers. For instance, you can use your Palm OS
device to sync from your desktop computer at home to the same Lotus
Notes PIM and custom databases that you sync to at work. The Multi PC
Support option provides you with even greater flexibility in accessing
and updating your Lotus Notes PIM and custom database information.
Setting up to sync with multiple desktop computers consists of three
steps:
Enabling Multi PC Support
Duplicating your Pylon configuration
Replicating your Lotus Notes databases
Enabling Multi PC Support
In order to sync with multiple desktop computers, Multi PC support
must be enabled on each desktop computer with which you plan to
sync. Multi PC Support is an advanced option that you can enable in
your Pylon configuration document.
To enable Multi PC Support:
1. Open the Pylon Configuration Database. For instructions, see “Con-
figuring basic PIM sync settings” (page 57)
2. In the navigation pane, click Configurations.
3. Click Edit Configuration.
4. Check the checkbox to enable Advanced Options.
Advanced options, including Multi PC Support, appear in the top
right corner of your configuration document.
5. Check the checkbox to enable Multi PC Support.
6. Click Save and Close to save your changes and exit the configura-
tion document.
Copying your Pylon configuration
In order for syncing from multiple desktops to work, Pylon must be
configured the same way in each location from which you wish to sync.
This means that your Pylon configuration document and the filters that
it references for each PIM or custom database conduit need to be
duplicated at any additional locations. There are several ways to do this:
Manually record your settings in the Pylon Configuration Database,
then manually recreate them at the additional location.
