Uninstalling Pylon
To uninstall Pylon software completely, you must uninstall it from both
your desktop computer and your mobile device.
Uninstalling Pylon from your desktop computer
Note When you installed Pylon on your desktop computer, any Palm conduits
that had been enabled prior to installation were disabled when the
installer enabled the corresponding Pylon conduits. These disabled
Palm conduits will not be re-enabled when you uninstall Pylon; you will
have to re-install the Palm Desktop software in order to re-enable any of
them that you wish to use.
Uninstalling version 5.4.1 for Pocket PC OS or Palm OS
Follow these instructions to remove both Pylon Conduit and Pylon Pro
for either Pocket PC or Palm OS.
To uninstall version 5.4.1:
1. Place your Pocket PC or Palm OS device in its cradle and perform a
final sync. After syncing, leave your device in its cradle.
2. Close Lotus Notes.
3. Double-click the installer file pylondesktopPocket PC.exe or pylondesktop-
palm.exe.
The Pylon installer Welcome panel for a maintenance install, shown
in Figure 3-8, “Pylon installer Welcome panel for maintenance
install” (page 50), appears.
4. Select Remove and click Next.
You are prompted to confirm your intent to completely remove
Pylon and all of its components.
5. Click Yes to confirm your intent.
The Pylon installer Setup Status indicates the percentage progress.
Note If any potentially shared files are detected, you will be prompted as
to whether these should be removed or left. You can probably delete
these files safely, but if you want to be cautious here, answer No to
these prompts.
When the removal is complete, the Pylon installer Maintenance
Complete panel is displayed.
6. Click Finish.
Note When you uninstall Pylon, the pyloncfg.nsf file is not removed. It
remains in the Lotus Notes data directory for you to view later if you
need to refer to your old Pylon settings.
