Creating device-friendly Notes databases
Desktop User Guide for Pylon Conduit and Pylon Pro, Version 5.4 /205
Views
Each Pylon Pro database on a Palm or Pocket PC OS device contains
exactly one View. The View can contain up to four columns. For views
with more than four columns, only the first four columns will end up in
Pylon Pro. Each column must be linked to a field name that resides on
the currently mapped form.
Views are customizable on the device and Fields can be reassigned and
column widths can be resized as you work. However, changes made to
the View on the device are not synced back to Lotus Notes. For more
information, see “Navigating custom databases on a Pocket PC OS
Device” (page 150) or “Navigating custom databases on a Palm OS
Device” (page 162).
In the current release of Pylon Pro, there is no support for formulas. In
general, computed fields are ignored by SmartDesigner. However, if a
computed column contains exactly one valid Field within a View’s
formula, SmartDesigner will extract that Field name and use it in the
Pylon Pro database. For example, if the formula is
@UpperCase(Name); the @UpperCase formula will not be applied,
but the column will be populated with a Field called Name.
