Chapter 20. Global Copy interfaces 233
Example 20-22 rmpprc command
dscli> rmpprc -dev IBM.1750-13AAGXA -remotedev IBM.1750-13AAVCA 1600:1600
Date/Time: June 14, 2005 12:48:09 PM CDT IBM DSCLI Version: 5.0.3.110 DS: IBM.1750-13AAGXA
CMUC00160W rmpprc: Are you sure you want to delete the Remote Mirror and Copy volume pair
relationship 1600:1600:? [y/n]:y
CMUC00155I rmpprc: Remote Mirror and Copy volume pair 1600:1600 relationship successfully
withdrawn.
You can suppress the CMUC00160W confirmation message by adding the -quiet
parameter.
unfreezepprc
With the unfreezepprc command, you can thaw an existing Consistency Group; see
Example 20-23. It resumes host application I/O activity for primary volumes on the
Consistency Group that was created by an earlier freezepprc command.
The unfreezepprc command is used to reset the extended long busy condition for the primary
volume and release application I/O to the primary volumes. All queued writes to the source
volume are written. The status of the volumes does not change; the primary volumes remain
in the suspended state as set by the freezepprc command.
Example 20-23 unfreezepprc command
dscli> unfreezepprc -dev IBM.1750-13AAGXA -remotedev IBM.1750-13AAVCA 16:16
Date/Time: June 14, 2005 5:46:37 AM CDT IBM DSCLI Version: 5.0.3.110 DS: IBM.1750-13AAGXA
CMUC00198I unfreezepprc: Remote Mirror and Copy pair 16:16 successfully thawed.
20.5 DS Storage Manager
The DS Storage Manager (DS SM) is a graphical user interface (GUI) that can be used to set
up and control Global Copy. It is user friendly, however, you cannot use it for automation
activities, and certain remote mirror and copy functions are not supported from this interface.
In this section we give examples of common tasks that are performed using the DS SM.
20.5.1 Paths panel
The Path panel is the central point in the DS Storage Manager to establish new paths and
manage existing paths. You can get to the path panel as follows:
1. Select
Real-time manager.
2. Select
Copy Services.
3. Click
Paths.
Then the Paths panel will display; see Figure 20-1 on page 234. Here, to display existing
paths, select the storage unit and the LSS for which you want to display the paths information.
Note: Because the freezepprc command deletes the paths between the specified LSS
pair, you have to reestablish them to resume normal Global Copy operation.
