328 IBM System Storage DS6000 Series: Copy Services with IBM System z
RQUERY
There are several action parameters to determine what output information to obtain from a
Global Mirror session. The API allows you to get more information out of a Global Mirror
session than the respective TSO or ICKDSF commands. The ANTRQST macro allows
you to direct the query output to a preallocated data set, with a logical record length or
120-byte fixed length.
The ANTRQST macro is not described in detail here. If you need more information about the
Copy Services functions and how they are triggered through ANTRQST, refer to z/OS
DFSMS Advanced Copy Services, SC35-0428. This manual also contains an Assembler
sample program that starts a Global Mirror session.
24.7 DS Storage Manager GUI
Global Mirror can be managed through the DS Storage Manager-provided Web-based
graphical user interface (GUI).
In this section we illustrate, with some examples, the use of the DS SM GUI to accomplish
certain Global Mirror management activities. We are going to find out about the volumes that
are in Global Mirror session number 01, and then pause and resume the session.
Figure 24-16 shows the entry point to the Global Mirror real-time application.
Figure 24-16 Select Global Mirror real-time application
From here you select session number 01 with the check box. From the action pull-down list
you select an action.
Note: The DS SM examples that we present in this section were run in a DS8000 HMC,
but are basically similar to what you see in a DS6000 SMC when using the DS SM GUI.
