5.3 ICKDSF
The System z ICKDSF utility offers a means of control for Copy Services functions. ICKDSF
is the only direct interface for z/VM and z/VSE environments.
ICKDSF typically runs as a batch program and can be automatically run from batch
scheduling products (for example Tivoli® Workload Scheduler).
More information on ICKDSF can be found in Device Support Facilities User’s Guide and
Reference, GC35-0033.
5.4 DFSMSdss
The DFSMSdss commands can be used to manage Copy Services relationships. Detailed
information can be found in z/OS DFSMSdss Storage Administration Reference SC35-0424.
5.5 The ANTRQST macro
The ANTRQST macro provides an application program call to the application programming
interface (API) of the z/OS system data mover (SDM). This macro allows you to call Metro
Mirror, z/OS Global Mirror, and FlashCopy functions.
For detailed information, see the IBM publication z/OS DFSMS Advanced Copy Services,
SC35-0428.
5.6 z/TPF commands
It is also possible to use native z/TPF commands to issue Copy Services commands. An
example is the use of the ZXCPY command to initiate a FlashCopy on a z/TPF device.
Information about using z/TPF to control Copy Services can be found at the following Web
