272 CHAPTER 17: NETWORK PROTOCOL OPERATION
Perform the following configuration in System View.
By default, there is no host name associated to any host IP address.
For further information on IP Address configuration, please refer to the Getting
Started Guide that accompanies your Switch.
Configuring the IP Address of the VLAN Interface
You can configure an IP address for every VLAN interface of the Switch. Generally, it is
enough to configure one IP address for an interface. You can also configure up to five
IP addresses for an interface, so that it can be connected to several subnets. Among
these IP addresses, one is the primary IP address and all others are secondary.
Perform the following configuration in VLAN Interface View.
By default, the IP address of a VLAN interface is null.
Note that the VLAN interface cannot be configured with the secondary IP address if
its IP address is set to be allocated by BOOTP or DHCP.
Displaying and
Debugging IP Address
After the above configuration, enter the
display command in any view to display the
IP addresses configured on interfaces of the network device, and to verify the effect
of the configuration.
