Outline of printing process
The following illustration shows the printing processes of this printer.
1. The precharger uniformly charges the entire surface of the
photoconductor drum at the center in the recording unit.
2. The optical unit exposes a printing image onto the photoconductor
drum to produce a latent image (electrical image that cannot be
seen).
3. The developing unit visualizes the latent image using the toner.
4. The transfer unit transfers the visible image onto the paper.
5. The fusing unit fuses the image using flash fusing.
6. The photoconductor drum surface is cleaned after transfer.
Then the photoconductor drum is uniformly precharged for the next
exposure.
7. The waste toner after cleaning is recovered by the collection system.
This printer has a set of these process units for both the front-side and
the back-side printing.
For double-sided printing, toner images are transferred sequentially for
the back and front sides, then fused sequentially for the back and front
sides.
