Global access control settings
The access control mechanism enables the service controller to manage user access to the
protected network resources. The features provided by the access control mechanism are
only supported on VSCs that are configured for access control.
Support for access control must be enabled and disabled individually for each VSC. Select
Public access > Access control to configure global settings.
When a VSC is access controlled, the options on this page take effect with regards to client
station authentication and authorization.
Use the checkbox in the title bar to enable or disable the access control mechanism:
When enabled, the service controller provides access control which can then be
configured on a per-VSC basis to control user logins.
When disabled, access to the public access interface is disabled for all VSCs that are
configured to use access control. Users will not be able to log in using these VSCs.
The status light icon indicates the state of the authentication system.
A green light icon means that the access control feature is working and authentication
requests can be processed.
A red light icon indicates that access control function cannot process requests at this
time.
