SET RMON ALARM ETHERNET {stat_type}.{interface} RISING {threshold}
FALLING {threshold} {event} {time} {trigger} {alarm type}
The following is a summary of the parameters that can be specified for
the Stat_type:
− BroadcastPackets
− Collisions
− CRCAlignErrors
− Fragments
− Jabbers
− MulticastPackets
− Octets
− OversizePackets
− Packets
− UndersizePackets
In the above command,
event
is the index number of the RMON event
that occurs when the threshold is exceeded.
Note: You must issue the above commands for each DMM interface and
for each RMON group that DMM is to collect statistics for. For example,
to enable our DMM to collect RMON Host group for Ethernet_1, we added
interface 3 to the RMON Host control table using the following command:
8260> set rmon host ethernet interface 3
Note
When you enable the probe-function of the DMM, it creates default
control entries for:
•
Collecting statistics on the MAC interface
•
Monitoring host information
•
Monitoring matrix information
•
Generating two history reports, one every 30 seconds and one
every 30 minutes.
•
Verify that the appropriate entries in the RMON control tables have been
created. You may do this by displaying the contents of the RMON
control tables using the following command:
SHOW RMON {rmon_group} CONTROL ALL
In the above command, the rmon_group can be:
− Alarm
− Event
− History
− Host
− Matrix
− TopN_hosts
